Social Developers London returns on our regular monthly night (second Wednesday). You may know us as Facebook Developer Garage London - we're the same people putting on the same great events, at our new venue at Central Working in Google Campus (close to Old Street, Shoreditch High Street, Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations), right in the heart of London's digital and start-up hub, Silicon Roundabout.
Our guest talks include Five Smoking Hot Social Campaigns: The Brands Getting it Very Right, by Toby Margetts, Lee Stacey, and Roger Warner from agency Beyond, and Chris Connell from Conjure will be telling us about launching Mixer (a social mobile application that connects people through open conversation in their local area) - what worked and what didn't.
Committee member and Facebook application developer Eamonn Gahan will take us through all the important Facebook platform updates since our last event, and Angus Fox, committee member and organiser of Twitter Dev Nest will run through updates with Twitter. Freelance developer and our secretary Dave Nattriss will cover the hottest apps and pages on Facebook, and starting everything off, SDL Chairman and host for the evening Todd Chaffee will give us a quick update on general Facebook and other social platform news. The talks will begin at 7pm.
We'll also have our now regular 'show and share' section later on where you can give a quick talk/demo about whatever you've been working on - just sign up on the board at the front of the talk room to share anything Facebook or social media related with the audience. You can talk for up to two minutes, and can show slides from your computer if you've got a VGA connection, or use a browser on ours.
Our events often sell out within days, so be quick to buy your ticket(s). We'll go for after-drinks at The Windmill around the corner for those that want to wind down afterwards.
Tickets are available at http://sdljanuary2013-meetupeventdescription.eventbrite.com - you must buy in advance to guarantee entry on the night. All tickets are priced at just £5, which includes pizza that will be served during the evening. A cash bar will be available for alcoholic and soft drinks.
If you miss out on or can't make this one, we look forward to seeing you at our next event, taking place in February.
As always we are grateful for the sponsorship of our events - thanks to our new venue sponsors Central Working. If your organisation is interested in sponsoring us, please contact us for more information.
Are the slides by Todd available anywhere online?
